'While Fiji is doing well in so many ways, our society is currently failed with the severe crisis of health.’

Those were the words of the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama while opening the new $250,000 worth Davuilevu Multi‑Purpose Court last night.

Bainimarama says there are many lives cut short because of non‑communicable diseases.

He says while we are seen by the world as a sporting power house whose athletes bring success from the international stage, we suffer one of the highest rates of NCD’s in the world.

Bainimarama says all throughout the country there are parks and sporting facilities available.

He says good health is something people need to consistently work towards and the need to adopt the mentality that it is their own discipline and drive that will fight these deadly diseases.

Bainimara says the new facility will become a tremendous source of joy and energy for the community.

Bainimarama says the government is committed to expending access in improving the qualities of sporting facilities throughout the islands.
