Good news for landowners and leaseholders from Naitasiri, Tailevu and Rewa as they no longer have to travel to Suva to access the services of the iTaukei Land Trust Board following the opening of their new sub-regional office in Nausori this morning.
While opening the office, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama says that people have had to make the inconvenient travel to Suva to access the services of the TLTB for nearly two decades now.
Bainimarama says that this was because the 1999 ruling government closed down the office which was a big disappointment for many.
The Prime Minister adds that the new office will provide wider range of services for landowners and leaseholders from around Nausori, Tailevu, Rewa and Naitasiri and he encouraged them to realise the opportunities offered.
Bainimarama says that they are able to fund the new office because the government has put Fiji in a strong financial position.
The Prime Minister told landowners at the event that he sees development opportunities as he has heard that only 36% of land in the wider Nausori area are being leased.
Bainimarama also launched the new TLTB website which will give effective online resource information relating to the TLTB services.
