Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Voreqe Bainimarama who is currently in New York for the UN General Assembly, has confirmed to Fijivillage that none of the Fijians living in the area have been affected by the bomb blasts.
Bainimarama says everyone is safe in New York.
Meanwhile Bainimarama co-chaired a UN meeting with the Vice President of Kenya.
He also had meetings with the Foreign Ministers from Hungary and Ethiopia.
Bainimarama is also expected to meet Australian Prime Minister, Malcolm Turnbull in New York.
