A number of stakeholders briefed Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama on the long dry spell experienced in the North and Western divisions.
Permanent Secretary for Rural and Maritime Development and National Disaster Management Setareki Tale told Fijivillage that according to the briefing, it is not a disaster at the moment.
Nadi Weather Office Director Ravin Kumar, Fiji Electricity Authority CEO Hasmukh Patel, Water Authority of Fiji CEO Opetaia Ravai and others were part of the meeting at the Prime Minister’s office.
The stakeholders refused to make any comments on the briefing.
Meanwhile, the Nadi Weather Office said the dry weather may continue till October this year.
