The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission have charged the National Director for Peoples Community Network Semiti Qalowasa for one count of failing to provide information.
The case was called in the Civil Court this morning.
Qalowasa was not present in court and he has been issued with a bench warrant.
The case has been adjourned to the 25th of April.
The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission are investigating the Peoples Community Network on the Lagilagi Housing project in Jittu Estate Suva.
It had come to the Governments attention that the People’s Community Network does not have proper documentation about how the funds were used.
They had also received complaints raising concerns about some people who do not necessarily deserve to be staying at Lagilagi Housing.
The government in partnership with People’s Community Network had given about $12 million for the Lagilagi Housing Project.
The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission has encouraged Fijians who had made payments in advance and are facing issues in terms of securing a unit or seeking refund to come forward and report the matter to them.
