The Public Accounts Committee has raised concern on the failure of some government ministries to provide employee FNPF contributions on time.
The committee questioned why ministries were submitting their employee FNPF contributions late.
Chairman, Biman Prasad said it may result in employees not receiving interest for their contributions.
Acting Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Esala Nayasi said the Ministry has written to the Solicitor General for advice.
Nayasi also highlighted that part of the issue is the problems they had with staffing in their accounts section.
Meanwhile, Acting Permanent Secretary for Finance, Kelera Vakaloloma told the committee that they are trying to address the problem by making improvements in their public financial management and electronic fund transfer system.
She said the ministry will also improve their monitoring capacity through the establishment of a monitoring unit.
