The Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee Ashneel Sudhakar says that he has received a number of complaints after they were looking into the accounts of Savusavu Town Council.
He says that the allegations are regarding the ratepayers of Savusavu and the money that they had contributed to a carnival, the ratepayer's funds and other matters.
Sudhakar confirms receiving close to 100 emails, phone calls and letters regarding these allegations against the council.
He adds that he is compiling all the complaints in one bundle and he will refer it to the appropriate authorities which could be the Permanent Secretary and the Minister for Local Government and FICAC.
Sudhakar says that these things have to be taken seriously as they have to compile the evidence first and have some preliminary investigations.
