Overseas Voter Registration Drive for Fiji elections begins in Australia and America

The Fijian Elections Office has started conducting Overseas Voter Registration Drive in Australia and America.

The Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem had earlier stated that seven teams will been deployed to Australia, New Zealand, USA and the United Arab Emirates.

The Elections Office has also confirmed the venues for Australia, New Zealand, USA and the United Arab Emirates, where their teams will be based at specific times.

They has earlier stated that 7,490 Fijians are registered overseas.

Fijians abroad will need to present a valid Fijian Passport or a Certificate of Citizenship when registering.

There is a total of 636,764 registered voters as of the 31st of May.

Saneem had stated that in the Central area there are 264,745 voter that have registered, 243 569 in the Western Division, 94 954 in the Northern Division and 26 006 in the Eastern Division.
