127 students of Batirilagi District School in Seaqaqa will no longer have a problem of overcrowding in their classrooms as their new five classroom block was opened today by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.
School Head Teacher Salote Nakaiwalu says Batiri, Narailagi and the nearby settlements will now have better access to education.
Nakaiwalu says ever since the five classrooms were destroyed in a fire in 2014 they have had a problem with congestion at the Batirilagi District School.
While officiating at the opening of the new school block Bainimarama says the facility opening today is an investment to rebuild the school which was destroyed by a fire in 2014.
The total cost of the new classroom block and new teachers quarters is $257,000 which was funded by the Prime Minister’s Office.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister also officiated at the Kindergarten foundation ceremony at Seaqaqa Primary School and opening of the new Seaqaqa Fire Station.
