More than 60 University of the South Pacific Laucala Campus staff have handed over their petition to the Council and Senate Secretariat Office against former USP Vice Chancellor and President Rajesh Chandra.
In the letter, the staff demanded that their petition be noted and considered in the current investigation.
They are also asking that USP Pro-Chancellor Winston Thompson recuse himself from the Council Chair immediately.
They say this is in light of his public defence of those implicated in the allegations which is premature and unprofessional that compromises his position as a chair.
The letter also stated that Thompson's public statements are unprofessional, prejudicial and damaging to the University.
The allegations are laid out in a leaked confidential report which was presented to the Executive Committee of the USP Council in March this year.
The report was put together by USP’s new Vice Chancellor Professor Pal Ahluwalia.
It details allegations of quick appointments and contract renewals for some senior members of the university ‑ many of them work at the Laucala campus in Fiji.
There are also details of alleged breach of policy in past financial decisions as well as questionable promotions and questionable allowances for some staff.
