Over 500 women will be participating at the Fiji National Women’s Expo tomorrow to exhibit their handicrafts, contemporary items, pot plants, food items and a variety of textiles.
The Ministry of Women says the event will be a transitional phase for the women as it will provide a wider spectrum to be exposed to all areas of development.
Also for the first time, there will be a Rural Women’s Fashion Show on Thursday that would showcase emerging designers.
As a build up to the 2017 Women’s Expo, the ministry had worked with relevant stakeholders to organize the 13 Divisional craft shows in the North, Central, Eastern and Western division to identify rural women artisans whose products have met the selection criteria.
The theme for the Women’s Expo this year is “Be Empowered-Be the Change”.
The expo will be held from tomorrow till Friday at the Vodafone Arena.
