More than 50 Youth leaders representing different youth clubs convened at the Lautoka District Council Youth Workshop yesterday.
In an interview with Fijivillage the Chief Executive Officer of Empower Pacific, Patrick Morgam said Youth Leaders need to network and come up with innovative programs that youths find challenging and interesting in a youth club.
He said this will keep them actively involved in their respective clubs.
Morgam said the key message is that as youth leaders they need to be creative, have to be visionary and be innovative in terms of leading their youth members.
He has also urged unemployed youths to get involved in community work while waiting for a job.
Meanwhile, Lautoka Youth President Ratu Viliame Naulivou said there are 115 Youth Clubs and 215 Provisional Youth Clubs of which only a handful of youth clubs are active.
Naulivou said therefore the vision of the workshop is to mobilize the youths of Lautoka.
