About 48,868 unemployed people are registered with the National Employment Center in their seven district offices around the country.
The Ministry of Employment and Industrial Relations say 4,950 people were provided with work attachments last year while 5,959 people were able to gain permanent employment through NEC.
The Employment Ministry will be signing an MOU with the Ministry of Education through their Technical College Initiative so that all unemployed persons with no qualification will attend Employment Skills Training through these colleges.
According to the Ministry of Employment these colleges will offer different disciplines that are demand driven and their clients can access these colleges around Fiji.
