Over 4,000 residents living along Cuvu Back Road now have the comfort of having street lights.
Residents from Cuvu, Naevuevu, Sila, Tore, Rukurukulevu, Boua, Newtown, Naidovi and Bangladesh will benefit from this $582,406 project.
Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama lit up the 105 street lights in a special ceremony last night.
While speaking at the ceremony at Cuvu College, Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says this is to ensure that the government spreads the economic benefits of the nation to everyone in Fiji.
He says plans are in place to complete the street lighting project from Korotogo by-pass to Nailaga in Ba.
Nailaga village will be the first village to be completely solar street lit.
Volivoli and the extension of Natadola junction already has street lights.
Yako and Yadua will also be lit up soon.
