More than 35,000 families in Fiji are being assisted through the Government’s social welfare programs.
The Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Rosy Sofia Akbar said these families are benefitting from either the Poverty Benefit Scheme, the Social Pension Scheme, the Expanded Food Voucher Program, the Bus Fare Subsidy, and the Child Protection programs.
Akbar said the Ministry through the REACH Project will establish mobile units to increase its reach to poor and underprivileged families in Fiji.
