Over 3,398 qualified yet unemployed degree holders have registered with NEC from 2018 to July

Over 3,398 qualified yet unemployed degree holders, have registered with National Employment Center from 2016 to July of this year.

This was highlighted by Deputy Secretary for the Ministry of Employment Vilimone Baleidrokadroka at the opening of the National Employment Centre Forum today. 

Baleidrokadroka says that this was also the largest number of people with qualification to registered with the National Employment Centre.

He added that the bulk of people that have registered is between the ages of 15-29 which certifies the percentage of unemployed youths at 18%.

Meanwhile,Permanent Secretary for Employment, Salaseini Daunabuna highlighted the Employment Ministry aims to get feedback from the employers in terms of the 9 years of centre running and what improvements can be done.

She adds that the forum is an opportunity for employers to discuss changes implemented by the ministry regarding the Memorandum of Understanding between employers and the workers from the centre and also the allowance increase for attaches.
