More than $250,000 was collected during the 2016 Vodafone Friendly North Carnival.
This was highlighted by the Festival’s Media Officer Vincent Sahayam during the thanksgiving ceremony at the Civic Centre in Labasa.
Sahayam says they are planning to build a multipurpose hall in Labasa as they do not have one at the moment.
He says it is an urgent need for the people of Labasa as they can use the multipurpose hall during natural disasters.
Sahayam says the area for the development has not been confirmed.
He says the multipurpose hall is expected to cost $1 million.
