Over 2,000 vehicles with defects expected to be fixed next month

Asco Motors says they expect to start fixing defects on over 2,000 vehicles from the end of next month.

The company had confirmed in November last year that defects found in Toyota Corolla/Auris, Prius, SAI and Lexus Models manufactured between 2008 to 2015 will be fixed at no cost by the company.

They had received the registrations and chassis numbers of the vehicles from their manufacturer in Japan that may have defects.

Company’s Acting CEO and Secretary Ronald Kumar says the parts have started arriving and their workshop in Suva and around the country are being prepared for the vehicles that will be brought for maintenance.

Kumar had earlier stated that the Toyota Prius owners should not panic as they will commence free Special Service Campaigns for affected vehicles.

This also applies to customers who have bought Toyota Prius from other car dealers in Fiji as Asco Motors has taken full responsibility for all Prius vehicles.

Asco Motors had revealed last year that there are in excess of 1,000 Prius Models that may be impacted.

These vehicles may have defects to their Air Bags and the Fuel Suction Plates/Charcoal Canisters.

The company says that it must be noted that not all vehicles in this range are affected.
