In Contemporary Fiji, our children need to continue learning about other cultures, appreciate others values and accommodate other cultures so as to become better rounded and accomplished citizens.
This was highlighted by the Education Minister Dr Mahendra Reddy during the China Cultural Heritage Week at Adi Cakobau School.
Reddy says government wants every Fijian to appreciate and learn from the colourful past and use those values to progress in the current environment.
He says it is important for all Fijians to understand the transition in the Fijian society and commit themselves to understand these changes.
Reddy has also urged students to reflect upon their lives and make connections with the culture, teachings and strong traditions that have been taught to them.
