The Opposition has wrongly called the 2018/2019 National Budget irresponsible.
These are the words of the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama during the opening of the 36 new flats at the Kalabu Rental Estate.
The Prime Minister added that more Fijian families are now having access to affordable and quality housing.
He says just as Fijian families are the heart of the society, the home is the heart of any family and this is what this development represents.
Bainimarama says this is where people’s children can grow up and where they can instill children with the values and principles that make good Fiji Citizens.
He adds that Nasinu is one of the fastest growing areas in the country.
The 36 new flats at Kalabu Rental Estate which have been completed through a funding of $10M by the government will be available to low income earners.
Tenants will pay a maximum of $50 per week for the 1 bedroom flats.
PRB’s Acting General Manager, Patrick Veu says tenants who are financially disadvantaged and cannot pay the $50 rent will be given a government subsidy.
