One-month-old baby still in hospital after Nadi accident

A one-month-old baby is still admitted at the Lautoka hospital after she received injuries following an accident along Queens Highway in Nadi.

Police say a 29-year-old carpenter was driving a vehicle with two other passengers when an argument developed between him and a 26-year-old woman who was sitting in the back seat of the private vehicle with a baby.

It is alleged that the 26-year-old woman hit the driver on his head which resulted in the vehicle veering off the road and hitting a concrete post.

Police say due to the impact of the accident the 26-year-old woman and the baby were thrown forward.
