Queens Highway at Veisari, Lami is now open to one lane.
Fiji Roads Authority General Manager Network Operations and Maintenance, Aram Goes confirms that their contractor, Fulton Hogan Hiways has managed to clear one lane.
He says this has taken longer than anticipated due to the slip material extending across approximately 60 metres length of the Queens Road with the buildup of debris over 2 metres deep.
Goes says they have arranged for a Stop/Go Traffic Management, whilst Fulton Hogan Hiways clears the other lane.
Motorists are advised to use extreme caution whilst travelling in these conditions.
Goes says if rain continues then there may be too much risk to allow two lanes, however they are monitoring the situation and once it is safe, they will allow two lane traffic.
