One lane of the Queens Highway has been closed near Namuka‑i‑Lau Village which is just past Lami Town.
The Fiji Roads Authority says this is due to a landslip.
FRA confirms the Suva bound lane has been closed off and their contractor is clearing the site.
Meanwhile, a family of five is counting themselves lucky after they were moved to another house just in time before their house was destroyed in a landslide at Vunivivi squatter settlement in Nausori last night.
Dalip Chand says the family he helped to move include the owner, his wife and their children.
Afer contacting the National Disaster Management Office, it has been confirmed to Legend FM that the Commissioner Central’s Office has been notified of the incident and a team will be attending to the family.
Meanwhile, the FRA has confirmed that there are no road closures as yet but have advised people to beware of flash flooding in certain areas.
