Police have confirmed that an official report has been lodged regarding the alleged sexual assault of the 14-year-old girl seen in a video that went viral on social media.
Police Spokesperson Ana Naisoro says that the report was lodged by the victim's father at the Namaka Police Station.
She says that prior to the official report being lodged, officers had already been gathering information about the uploading of the video as well as the alleged offence of defilement considering the age of the students as any issue involving minors is always a concern.

She adds that at the same time investigators are looking into the aspect of who uploaded the video to social media.
Naisoro says that the person who uploaded the video could face possible charges of trafficking and defilement as the student is under the age of 17.
