Official investigations into 3 fire incidents underway

Official investigations into the three fire incidents that occurred over the weekend are now underway.

Police are finalising their reports and will be handing it over to the National Fire Authority to assist in their investigations.

The first incident was in Valele, Ba on Saturday where four people lost their lives.

A 23‑year‑old woman and two men both aged 52‑years‑old were all trapped inside the house and died.

The three bedroom house belonged to a 53‑year‑old woman who also passed away in the incident.

There were also two fire incidents recorded in the North on Sunday.

The first incident occurred at Narayan Heights in Savusavu where a three-bedroom house was destroyed.

A 49‑year‑old labourer also lost his home in Vunika, Labasa.
