Assistant Minister for Health Veena Bhatnagar says a directive has been sent out to all the nurses of the nursing stations and hospitals that all the nurses are not to have lunch at the same time.
This is after a Nausori resident raised concern that none of the nurses were at the Nausori Health Centre ward where the patients are admitted.
It is alleged that all the nurses were having lunch at the same time in a nearby room.
Bhatnagar says she has visited the team at the Nausori Health Centre and all the nurses were having a lunch meeting.
She adds the directive is given to all the health facilities that patient care should never be compromised and the nurses have to find an appropriate time to have their meetings.
The nurses also informed the relatives of a patient that there were no bed sheets at the health centre for patients.
Bhatnagar highlights that all the bed sheets were sent for laundry but they now have a provision where the bed sheets will be available if some are sent for laundry.
