Minister for Economy and Communications Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has revealed that a number of government apps will be implemented in the near future.
Sayed-Khaiyum made this revelation at the inaugural National Conference on Information Technology at the Pearl Resort.
This is after the Government engaged the services of Singapore Corporation Enterprise which will be a four year program.
Sayed-Khaiyum says that as a government, they need to create the right environment to ensure that there is a huge uptake of technology.
He says that they do not want to see a divide between Viti Levu and Vanua Levu and want people to stay in Vanua Levu, and a lot of people from Viti Levu to go to Vanua Levu.
Sayed-Khaiyum says that internet connectivity is relatively poor in the North and has urged service providers to work on this.
