A number of campuses from the Fiji National University will be undergoing developments through the partnership of FNU and key stakeholders including government in an effort to provide the students a better learning experience.
While speaking to graduates from the College of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry and the University’s National Training and Productive Centre, FNU Vice Chancellor Professor Nigel Healey says one of the its capital project is the construction of the Labasa Campus and adds that the $30 million campus will be government funded as part of it “Look North” policy.
Professor Healey says that another project that had begun this year is the construction of the four storey building College of Business, Hospitality and Tourism Studies Building.
He says that FNU has also started another $15m government and FNU funded three storey building project at the Fiji Maritime Academy.
Professor Healey stressed that some of these capital projects are government funded while some are funded by FNU itself.
The Vice Chancellor stated FNU spends $50m a year on new building and facilities and $20m of it is being funded by the government as capital grants.
