The Fijian Elections Office has today released the Nomination Forms for the 2014 General Election.
There will be two types of nomination forms, one is for a candidate to nominate as an Independent Candidate and the second form is for Political Parties to nominate their candidates.
The Electoral Commission in its meeting yesterday approved the forms under the Electoral Decree.
Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem confirmed that nominations will only be accepted after the Writ of Election is formally issued by the President.
All nominations will be required to be lodged with the Supervisor of Elections at his office in Toorak, Suva.
Under the 2013 constitution, the Writ of Election shall be issued by the President on the advice of the Prime Minister at least 44 days before the date of the election.
There are 89 days left for the September 17th general elections.
