There is still no word on when water supply will normalize in Lami and Delainavesi.

Water Authority of Fiji CEO, Opetaia Ravai explains how they work out the supply of water to the two main areas in Suva and Lami/ Delainavesi who are supplied water from the Tamavua reservoir.

Ravai said they have hired a generator to run all the pumps to get at least 80 to 85 percent of production level.

He stressed that they are monitoring closely to ensure that water supply is normal in hospitals and schools.

Ravai also said Divisional Commissioners are informing them on which areas need assistance.

Meanwhile, residents of Tamavua-i-wai, lower Wailoku, Delainavesi, Nadonumai, Lami, Veisari, Wailekutu, Bilo through to Togalevu Naval Base will be without tap water until further notice due to a burst water main at the Tamavua-I-Wai treatment plant.

The Water Authority of Fiji is still working on the burst pipe and is expected to finish the repair works by this evening.

Arrangements have been made to supply carted water to these areas.
