The Mineral Resources Department says there is no tsunami threat after a 7.5 magnitude earthquake was recorded 38 kilometres South West of Maloku village in Moala Island in Lau at 3.49 this morning
It says the offshore quake was recorded at a depth of 664 kilometres.
The Mineral Resources Department stresses that it does not pose any immediate threat to the Fiji region.
The earthquake was also felt in parts of the Central and Western Division.
