No substantial evidence found in the alleged murder of 12‑year‑old girl

No substantial evidence has been found in relation to the alleged murder of a 12‑year‑old girl at her home in Samabula nearly three weeks ago.

Director CID, Kishore Kumar has confirmed this adding that they are also facing some difficulties in their investigation.

Kumar said the mother and step father of the girl do not understand English.

He said they are also seeking assistance from authorities in China to get more details about the mother and the stepfather.

Police have also interviewed neighbors and a number of street kids in Totoya street, Samabula.

Kumar is urging members of the public to come forward if they have any information.

The girl was found dead by her stepfather at their home earlier this month.

She was alone at home while her stepfather had gone to drop the girl’s mother at church.
