There is still no progress after reports emerged about a group of students vandalizing 2 buses owned by Nasese Buses Limited.
The Operations Manager for Nasese Buses Limited, Nithnesh Prasad says students that had damaged two of their buses last week had ripped off the seats and had thrown them out of the bus.
He says they had just bought two new buses for their fleet and students had damaged one of these buses.
Two buses were badly damaged by students who attended the Triple N Zone and Suva Zone 1 schools athletics competitions at the ANZ Stadium last week.
We have received confirmation from reliable sources that this is not the first case.
A few students from Ratu Kadavulevu School had also ripped off the seats of a chartered bus and the school had to bear the costs of the damage caused.
The Nasese Buses Operations Manager says the students were from various schools situated between the Suva to Nausori corridor.
Prasad says the students had ripped off the seats of the bus and had damaged the windscreens and the rear screens of another bus.
We have also received information that students from Lelean Memorial School were involved in last week’s incident.
We have spoken to the Principal of the School and she says this case has not been brought to her notice.
Nithnesh Prasad says the company has lodged their complaints at the Muanikau Police Post and we are still awaiting a response from Police on what is being done.
We have also sent questions to the Education Ministry and are awaiting their response.
