Good news for parents and guardians of the 14,000 pre-school students around the country who are over the age of 5 years and attend the centres recognized by the Ministry of Education as they will not have to pay fees from the second term.
This has been confirmed by the Assistant Minister for Education, Vijay Nath who said the government will provide $50 per child per term.
He added there are 945 recognized pre-schools.
Nath stressed if the parents have paid the fees for the whole year, their money for the second and third terms will be refunded by the respective centres.
