No arrests have been made in relation to the robbery at a service station in Pacific Harbor more than a week ago.
Police confirmed that more than $40,000 was stolen including $21,000 in foreign currencies.
No recovery has been made so far.
Police confirmed they are focusing on the Raiwai and Raiwaqa areas as the getaway vehicle involved in the incident was found abandoned in Raiwai.
Three masked men armed with cane knives entered the service station and fled with the cash in a getaway vehicle.
The security officer was earlier questioned however he has been released.
