Nikhil Buses stops service in Kavanagasau area in protest of LTA

The Nikhil Buses Limited which services the area of Kavanagasau in Sigatoka has stopped providing bus services for the area since yesterday in a protest against the Land Transport Authority.

Director Deo Shankar says this is because LTA has not granted their company a full licence to provide services for the area.

Shankar says they were only given a 90 days temporary approval back in 2011.

He also says they have pleaded to LTA to look into the illegal services being provided by other vehicles as it affects their bus company revenue.

We have sent questions to LTA and they are yet to comment.
