The newly elected members of the Fiji Taxi Association say they are committed to working closely with the Ministry of Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations.
This follows the election of new executives for the Association by the Fijian Elections Office and an inquiry by Resident Magistrate Andrew See into the affairs of the Association.
In a statement, the Ministry received affirmation from the Association that they will work with the Ministry in mapping a way forward for the Association which included discussions on the Annual General Meetings and participation of district branches to raise the profile of the taxi industry in Fiji.
The new executive members are President Rabhen Bhan Singh, Vice Presidents Mahendra Pratap Singh and Mohammed Faiyaz, General Secretary Ashwin Ashis Lal, Assistant Secretary Shelwin Kumar, and Treasurer Balram Naidu.
The Association currently has 276 members.
