800 diabetic patients who are regulars to the Diabetes Hub Centre in Suva will now be well assisted and served efficiently with well maintained equipment after the centre received a timely donation of a new sterilizing machine.
The machine which is worth about $4,000, was donated by the LDS Church Charity Group.
Diabetes Hub Centre Medical Officer, Dr Lisi Fini-asi says that in the past they have been taking their equipment to the CWM Hospital for sterilizing on a daily basis and this has also hindered their work.
Finiasi says that having their own machine will allow them to maintain their equipment and prevent the growth and spread of diseases.
