New school fence ensuring the safety of 136 students was opened at Bureiwai District School in Ra today.
Permanent Secretary for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Doctor Josefa Koroivueta says the school environment will now be more safe and secure and will boost the students' education.
The government provided $11,000 for the project.

Koroivueta told parents present at the event that children nowadays lack traditional teaching because they are not being taught the right thing.
He has pleaded with parents to re-look at their roles and responsibility and act upon it.
He also stressed the importance of having a family time.

Koroivueta also reiterated that children are now more safe as the government has strengthened the rights of children under its constitution.
