Villagers of Nagatagata with four other villages and nearby settlements of Nadarivatu are expected to access the new Nagatagata Nursing Station from next year.
Sub-Divisional Health Sister, Sereani Kafoa said the old Nagatagata Nursing Station which was located in the village boundary experienced water problem and its land lease has also expired.
Kafoa said the villagers have approved the lease of a two acres land outside the village boundary where they will able to serve the people more effectively and efficiently.
Kafoa said the new Nursing Station will serve 541 villagers which consisted of four villages and five settlements.
She added since the old Nursing Station closed in 2008 villagers have been forced to travel more than 30 minutes to visit the doctor at the Nadarivatu Health Center.
Kafoa said at the moment they will only have one nurse stationed at the soon to be open Nagatagata Nursing Station.
The total cost of the Nursing Station was $500,000 which was funded by the Ministry of Health.
