The new national minimum wage of $2.23 is expected to come into effect in July.
Minister of Employment, Productivity and Industrial Joji Konrote said they are now waiting for cabinet to rectify the proposed national minimum wage before it comes into effect.
Konrote said they will also be monitoring employers to make sure they follow the new national minimum wage when it comes into effect.
He added that employers that do not follow the new national minimum wage when it comes into effect will face the full brunt of the law.
