Good news for the people of the North as a new dialysis centre has been opened at the Labasa Hospital.
Labasa Hospital Board of Visitors Chairman Ami Kohli said people will no longer have to travel to the Central or Western Division for dialysis.
Kohli added there are 13 patients who visit the centre regularly.
According to the Chairman, the cost for the dialysis is cheaper than other centres in Fiji which costs $150 per session.
Kohli said the construction of the building was made possible through the $250,000 funding which was collected from the Friendly North Carnival last year.
Minister for Health Jone Usamate opened the facility yesterday and he has assured the people that the Ministry will continuously provide assistance through its staff.
