Good news for mothers in the CWM Maternity Unit as they will be able to have access to a new breastfeeding clinic room at the CWM Maternity Unit.
While opening the breastfeeding room, Senior Maternity Matron Aliote Galuvakadua said this will help those mothers who are uncomfortable while feeding their babies in the wards.
Galuvakadua said it is seen that during visiting hours, mothers are hesitant to breastfeed their babies in front of their relatives therefore this room will give them privacy.
She added that this will also save time for the Maternity Unit staff.
The room was refurbished with the assistance from the Corona Club of Fiji and the European Union with paint, two settees and two baby beds.
Galuvakadua said the clinic will be open five days a week from 2pm to 4pm where two mothers will be assisted within the period of half an hour each.
Meanwhile, today was the last day of the breastfeeding training week for the medical staff of CWM Hospital.
