A new block manufacturing plant owned by Natural Gift Carriers Limited has been opened in Vunimoli, Labasa creating employment for fifteen Fijians.
Natural Gift Carriers Limited is a civil construction company based in Labasa.
They also have a service station and supermarket.
The new block plant has the capacity to produce twenty blocks per minute while the crusher at the facility can produce six different sizes of crushed metal.
Managing Director Shakeel Hussein says they invested $1 million to build the new block manufacturing plant.
While opening the block manufacturing plant, Minister for Infrastructure Parveen Bala says this will add to the overall production capacity of the building industry.
He says given current shortfalls this will provide enough blocks for domestic and commercial use in the Northern Division.
Bala added that opening businesses like the block manufacturing plant are some of the most inspiring moments he comes across as the Minister.
He stressed that if Fijians are to enjoy more jobs and more growth we need to support our hard-working small and micro enterprises which is the focus of the government.
Bala says it is not a vote buying exercise as some lame politicians try to point out.
