New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has vowed to never mention the name of the man charged with murder over the Christchurch mosque shootings, saying he is a terrorist and extremist.
The terror attacks on the two mosques in Christchurch claimed the lives of 50 people, including three Fijians.
Ardern has told New Zealand Parliament that 15th March ,2019 will forever be etched into New Zealander's minds.
She said New Zealand will give the shooter nothing, not even his name.
She says speak the names of those who were lost, rather than the name of the man who took them.
Ardern says the person at the centre of the terror attack against the Muslim community in New Zealand will face the full force of the law and the families of the fallen will have justice.
Opposition leader Simon Bridges said Parliament and New Zealand right now is one voice ‑ and that is one of love, not hate.
Meanwhile, New Zealand Parliament's Speaker Trevor Mallard has led a multi‑faith delegation into the debating chamber this afternoon for a special sitting of Parliament.
Prayers were offered by each of the religious representatives, beginning with a Muslim prayer.
