More women from Ba will be able to learn income earning skills as a new two storey Women’s Development Centre is going to be set up at the Ba Market Grounds.

The Government of Japan is providing assistance of $492,900 to Ba Women’s Forum through its Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects Program.

The centre will have an office, a hall, a sewing room, a kitchen and two other training rooms.

The project also includes the first workshop, which will be a two‑month training program facilitated by experts in handicrafts and food preservation.

Ba Women Forum Board of Trustee, Eva Saunaqali said that this will give an opportunity to those women who want to improve their standard of living.

Saunaqali said that women who are not in any of the clubs are also welcomed to register for training.

She said that a member will have to pay a $20 fee for the training.

Meanwhile, there are 71 registered women club in Ba.
