The design and construction work of the new Savusavu Jetty will begin soon.
Savusavu jetty was badly damaged during Tropical Cyclone Winston.
Fiji Roads Authority’s Chief Executive Officer John Hutchinson says the construction of the new Savusavu jetty could take anywhere from one and half to two years depending upon the detail of the design and engineering.
He says the new Savusavu jetty will improve public safety and also increase the berthing capacity for boats docking in Savusavu.
Over $4 million have been allocated by the government in the 2016/2017 National Budget for the renewal of the Savusavu Jetty.
