More than 30,000 villagers, 12 hotels and over 200 farmers now have better access to services after the opening of the new $13 million Rakiraki bridge.
Navuavua Village Headman, Etuate Navosa says it is a happy occasion for him and his village as the new bridge means lesser travelling time.
Navosa says they can now take their produce to the market and not worry about the condition of their goods.
He adds that they will no longer have to worry about rainy weather conditions as this bridge is much higher and stronger in structure compared to the previous one.
