Great news for People of Rakiraki as the new Rakiraki Bridge is set to open sometime in a few weeks.
The cost of the 81 meter long bridge cost $13.9 Million.
According to the Fiji Roads Authority most of the work has been completed but there are still a few things that the contractor has to finish off before they can safely open the bridge for public use.
The Authority says this includes sealing of the road on both ends approaching the bridge.
The Authority says once the bridge is opened the plight of travelers along Kings Road who have had to endure the detour route for more than two years will come to an end.
For two years people had to travel from Rakiraki Village going into Penang Mill access road to Rakiraki Town.
