New President for SODELPA Youth Wing to be elected by April

A new President for the SODELPA Youth Wing is likely to be elected in the SODELPA Youth Forum by April.

The party’s Interim General Secretary Adi Litia Qionibaravi says a new president will be elected at the Youth Forum which is supposed to be held before the 30th of April.

SODELPA established its youth wing in February 2014.

Pita Waqavonovono who had served as SODELPA Youth Wing President since 2014 has resigned from the position and it has been accepted by the party.

Waqavonovono says he is resigning to prepare and also campaign freely for the 2018 general elections for SODELPA.

Other SODELPA officials that have recently resigned from their positions are former General Secretary Pio Tabaiwalu and former Principal Administrative Officer of the Opposition Office, Mick Beddoes.

Beddoes and Tabaiwalu are still members of SODELPA.
